Bleary-eyed couple are one pint from visiting every Red Lion pub in Britain

A BLEARY-EYED couple are one pint away from going to every pub in Britain named the Red Lion.

Kayleigh Snell, 30, and fiance Paul Tyack, 31, visited the first of 632 Red Lions two and-a-half years ago.

The couple, of Woodstock, Oxfordshire, have since clocked up 20,500 miles and lost count of the amount of booze they have downed along the way.

They will complete their mammoth pub crawl at the Red Lion at Boldre, Hants, on Friday.

Dental worker Kayleigh said: “It’s been amazing. We’ve been to so many places and met so many interesting people.

“We try and visit about eight pubs in a day. One of us will have a half pint, the other will have an orange juice, as one of us will be driving. We don’t go too mad.”

After a drink at their local Red Lion in September 2015, the couple decided to visit as many pubs with the same name as possible.

By the time they had been to 200, pals suggested they finish the trek for charity, so they now raise money for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK, which helps plumber Paul’s seven-year-old niece Emily, who has lung disease.
