Body of missing woman, 43, found next to rugby club after she disappeared eight days ago

A BODY thought to be that of a missing woman has been found near a rugby club after she disappeared eight days ago.

Cops discovered the body in a field south of Dorchester Rugby Club shortly after 1pm today.

Laura Dodon, 43, was last seen in Weymouth on July 21 and was reported missing on Monday, July 27.

Officers had previously carried out checks at her home in Dorchester, Dorset, but had been unable to locate her.

It is now believed Laura was seen later that week on either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, walking away from her home towards Maiden Castle Road carrying a rucksack.

As part of the ongoing searches, officers discovered a body in a field south of Dorchester Rugby Club at 1.11pm today.

The body is thought to be that of Laura although police said no formal identification had taken place.

Laura’s family have been notified.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

The coroner has also been notified.
