A MAN died and another is fighting for his life after a lorry carrying a mobile home smashed into a car on the M62.
In the second fatal crash on the motorway in two days, the driver of the car was killed yesterday morning after the lorry veered across onto the opposite side of the road.
The passenger of the black Lexus, travelled in the opposite direction to the lorry, is in hospital with life threatening injuries.
The lorry driver suffered serious, but non life threatening injuries.
Police confirmed the unnamed man's death this morning, after the horrific smash at 9.30am yesterday.
The eastbound carriageway was closed until 4.30am today as drivers were trapped in their cars for more than 12 hours after the crash, on the Ouse Bridge, near Goole.
Humberside Police officers said a "serious and complex investigation" into the incident was underway.
Four fire engines, an ambulance and the police all rushed to the scene, with an air ambulance landing on the empty westbound carriageway shortly afterwards.
It is thought emergency teams tried to reconstruct the scene of the crash as part of their enquiries.
There are now two lanes open in both directions. The third lane is closed both eastbound and westbound to allow for the central reservation to be repaired.
