LOVE Island star Adam Collard has shared why he’s been a “d***head” in the past, after being coined the lothario of the dating show.
The 27-year-old reality star legend opened up on the sad reason he has “behaved selfishly", admitting the death of his grandma and not seeing his mum played a big part.

Adam, whose ex-girlfriends include Love Island’s Zara McDermott and Paige Thorne, said: “I’ve always covered up my feelings and been too much of a ‘lad’ to think about my feelings.
“I avoided topics like my nan passing away and never seeing my mum.
“My grandma passed away when I was 21/22 years old and I didn’t really process it or think about it because I was a bit of a d***head to be honest.”
The fitness enthusiast appeared on Love Island not once, but twice, after becoming the first former Islander to return as a bombshell during last year’s series, and he's keen to ditch his 'love rat imagine.'

Despite his fame and success, Adam admits he’s really struggled after leaving the villa the second time around, and opened up on being fat shamed, despite his chiselled physique.
“I’ve really struggled more mentally coming off Love Island this time around I’m not going to lie,” Adam admitted, continuing: “I really enjoyed coming off the show in 2018 but this time around after breaking up with Paige and all of that stuff it’s probably the most I’ve struggled within myself.
“I’ve had negative comments surrounding my weight. The hardest years for that were probably 12-15 but since coming off the show everyone has their say.
“I was called ‘too fat’ at points after Love Island. How do you try and stay in shape when you’ve trained for 10 weeks going into Love Island and then you’re suddenly living in service stations for months because you’re doing club appearances?

“Of course you’re going to gain weight.”
The star is now embarking on the biggest challenge of his career, in a move that will see him put his dating and personal life on the backburner for the foreseeable.
Adam, who admits he’s currently single, is taking on three IRONMAN events in five weeks over the summer, in what he’s called a “threesome like no other.”
The notoriously hard endurance challenges, which includes a full marathon at the end of it, will see Adam take on a gruelling fitness regime as he raises money for Marie Curie.
Opening up on his decision to do the challenge, Adam admitted: “The best sanctuary for me has been training - from swimming to running and all the other fitness things I do. It has really helped me.
“I want to do it for something bigger than me, and that’s to raise funds and an awareness for Marie Curie who took exceptional care of my grandmother when she was in the final few months of her life.”
Despite being in his best shape as he trains for his challenge, Adam says he still gets negative comments about his weight.
But that's not stopping the star from committing to his intensive schedule, which consists of twelve or thirteen training sessions a week.

He said: "I'm exhausted already. I've been training three hours a day since January every single day apart from Sunday.
"I'm lifting weights and doing swimming, biking or running. My back is broken, my knees feel like glass, and this is by no means healthy. It's an extreme sport, and an extreme event."
