BBC viewers cant work out what day it is as Saturday Kitchen airs on a Sunday The Sun

SATURDAY Kitchen viewers were left confused what day of the week it was today after tuning into the Best Bites show.

While it's hard enough keeping track of the days between Christmas and New Year at the best of times, some confusing scheduling created a recipe for disaster.

The Saturday Kitchen Best Bites round up show airs on BBC 2 every Sunday between 10.30am and 12pm, but non-regular viewers were thrown by the title.

One wrote: "'Saturday kitchen best bits' airing on #SundayMorning totes contributing further to my 'what day is it?' Confusion 👍🏾 BBC2 😆."

Another posted: "As if I wasn’t already confused enough about what day it is, flicked the telly on to find Saturday Kitchen on bbc2 and Sunday Brunch on c4 simultaneously.🤷🏻‍♂️."

A third shared: "Since 9am I've been convinced it was Saturday because I saw The Best of Saturday Kitchen come up on my Sky planner 🤣😂 #whatdayisit."

Clearing up the confusion, a fourth said: "Don't let BBC2 showing Saturday kitchen best bits fool you, for it is indeed Sunday."

The TV schedule has come under fire across all channels this Christmas with many irritated by the number of repeat shows.

However, in among the rehashed and compilation shows there has been plenty of new material that attracted viewers in their millions.

The pick of the bunch was the return of Gavin and Stacey with it winning the Christmas Day TV ratings war with 12.31million tuning in.

It was the largest audience recorded that day in a decade with half (49.2 per cent) of all TV viewers tuned in and an average of 11.5million viewers.

The Queen's Christmas Broadcast was the next most-watched programme, with Strictly Come Dancing, EastEnders and Michael McIntyre's Big Show finishing in the top five.
